Inspired by The Iliad and brought to life through the award-winning strategy game series, A Total War Saga: TROY brings a blend of grand, turn-based empire management and spectacular real-time battles to the heart of the Trojan War. ![]() I like both but they are different in many ways and difficulty wise they are not the same.Buy A Total War Saga: TROY as a Steam key at Attilla also runs a bit more poorly than Rome 2 but both are great games. Rome 2 gives you the more classical approach you start small and build an empire its one of the easier games in the franchise and it takes place during the rise of Rome as a superpower. Its also one of the more difficult games unless you play specific factions. Attila starts you off with a huge empire at the dawn of the fall of the Western Roman Empire, for many factions you have lots of territory and its all about defending that territory against enemies like the Huns, climate changes and more. No theres plenty of reasons to pick one or the other or both, it depends on the time period and what sort of Total War experience you want. This Troy game looks interesting and kind of original and artisticaly well done but there is no reason to play Rome 2 instead of Attila. Originally posted by Methodius:Attila is better than Rome 2 anyway. I think both can be worthwhile and you get to play Troy for nothing instead of waiting a year for it to come to this store and then paying for it. My Recomendation to you: get Total War Troy for free by just getting an Epic account, its out today the 13th and avilable for free (some dlc will be free to if you connect it to tw access). Its part of the edition you can buy I think. You can also play them in the dlc thats focused on the greek world and takes place a bit before. I liked Rome 2 despite flaws and a bit lackluster diplomacy system I will compare when I get Troy later today.īut If you like Greek city states like Sparta and Athen Rome offers you the possibility to play them, they do have a bit limited infantry focused rooster but they are playable. Instead its the Greek successor states after Alexander that has the main role. In Rome 2 you essentially take part in the rise of Rome as a superpower and the focus is less on generals and more on the army, the greek world Athen and Sparta is a shadow of what they used to be in this time. Its much more character driven so Heroes means more and you have a resource management system and some improved diplomacy over Rome 2. Essentially in Troy you have a smaller map focused on the greek world and the close east where Troy is located. Well Rome 2 takes place hundreds of years in the future compared to Troy. You can play as Spartan in Rome II as well so just wondering if Rome is a better experience than the new release Troy If you want play as others ancient civilizations, like Rome, Carthage, Barbarians, or persians then play Rome II ![]() If you like Trojan war then play Total War Troy.
